Anyone remember our first tour of British Honduras, when we built airport camp in the jungle near the ‘Guat’ border and we had to keep rescuing the ‘GreenJackets’ landrovers from the mud. Plant troop had a hut on stilts right across the road from the local bar. The toilet block was wooden seats (just holes) over a big concrete sess pit full of snakes and terantulas (we didn’t find out untill it got so full, we lifted the top off).
i remember my tour,it was in 1963 hurricane hatie.rebuilt airport camp with cosley buildings which were still in service 2010.all mod cons,hot& cold water,flush toilets.swiming pool complements 2 troop 20 fld sqn
