2 ESD was a sub depot for 1 E S G.
I was there from March 1948 until June 1949, as a regimental police
NCO. There were only about 80 Officers and other ranks. The adjutant
at that time was Captain Hudson, the C O's name I cannot remember.
At that time there were a large number of civilians employed in
the work shops refurbishing, and packing stores for onward
transit. The unit had it's own railway system, and also it's
own power station, and Fire Station.
