I was posted to the General Survey Section of the Royal Engineers attached to the Royal Signals, while out there sport was great for me I played football for the Rolal Engineers but the main sport for me was Boxing the Royal Signals pick me for there Boxing team, I was First String Lightweight Boxer and won the Farelf Lightweight championship in 1954,
This Boxing team won nearly all the eventsin1953=1954,

I was only at 4ttraining Reg for basic training and driver training, and then some training for the posting to the Far East.
Sailed out to Singapore in January 1953 HMS Dunera.

I am a member of the Blackpool Branch of REA, We have a good membership but as every where else we are all getting older,
most members are 80yrs Plus but still plodding on,
We meet on the first Friday of every month.
