I was posted from Paderborn to Verden as the HQ's draughtsman, it was a mixture of all regiments in Shiel Barracks,and my boss was a Canadian named Major Fox, we lived in a camp down the road with the Royal Signals in Caithness Barracks

Weird posting as p&d never saw a paintbrush..police store manager...police farmer..qm stores pass ups galloped. Also at Verden with a account. Fuel loader feck..young boy without a clew..crash outside...cookhouse storm and..mess waiter..batman..never idle..great accommodation..lots of ropes..drink related lots of women!

I became the CRE's driver. Lt Col Scott Bowden DSO MC RE. We moved to Nienburg and I continued to be the CRE's driver.The RSM was Mr Devonport. Enjoyed bridging camps at Hameln.Night driving (in the dark) along the river
was scary!Due to the Berlin wall, we National Service men had to do an extra six months service. Ashley Cundy L'cpl
