Once stayed in the DrillHall there. They were a converted sub unit of Yeomanry (DLOY?) and recall sleeping on the deck between glass cases containing dummies wearing magnificent dragoon type uniforms of the old regiment ….incredible and a bit eerie. Don’t think we took many ..maybe just a troop though more like a squadron I guess. Recall seeing their lads still wearing shoulder Cav chains although rebadged RE. It’s a long , long, time ago but still sticks in my mind..
