On arriving at 42 Survey Regiment in fanara Egypt I was posted to G.H.Q
47 Survey Squadron in Fayid. I stayed there from mid 1951 till 1953

Hello- I don't even know if this is the relevant site. My partners aunt died age 95 a few weeks ago & a photo was found in her belongings-very clear photo of 'Royal Engineers, 1st Footdrill Squad, Aldershot 1916.She was never married & there is no known connection (She lived in Birtley, Gateshead) I suppose curiosity & being a bit of a history buff has made me log in. Anyone who may be interested or can shed light on the regiment I would be interested to hear from you. Many thanks
